Ocean’s 13: Friends forever

One for all and all for one seems to be the theme of the third sequel in the Ocean’s series. Unlike the first two movies, this part is more about helping friends in bad time than about catching big fish. It comes with an equally interesting tagline: What are the odds of getting even? 13 to one.

Reuben Tishkoff (played by Elliot Gould), one of the gang members, is ditched by Willie Bank (Al Pacino). Betrayed Rueben suffers acute depression and loses meaning in life. After learning this, Danny Ocean (George Clooney) gathers his team and they together design a plan to outdo Bank. It’s fun to watch the planning and even more fun to watch its execution.

The plan is nicely complicated as always and at times defies logical thinking. But, still, it is a different kind of revenge movie with no bullets and no blood shed. It’s about the lighter side of revenge, a rare thing on celluloid landscape. The movie is full of situational humour and some scrip dialogues. “I want the baby but without labour pains”, yells Bank on one occasion. At other instance, he demands, "I want to know the answer before I ask the question"!

The technical side of the movie is strong. Performance of everyone that appears infront of the camera is remarkable. Al Pacino, though may not have got a lot of footage, does his job nicely.

The movie can be a one-time watch with friends. It does entertain!
