Movie review: Black & White (Hindi)
Don’t MissIt’s a fantastic movie after a long time from veteran director Subhash Ghai. The movie narrates a short span of time in the life of a fidayeen militant who has come to India all the way from Afghanistan. He is on a mission to create havoc at the Red Fort on 15th August.
The base line of the movie is no different from many other movies based on the subject of terrorism, released so far on the Hindi celluloid. Like most other movies, Black & White depicts the transformation in the approach of a suicide bomber who has suffered the brunt of terrorism himself in his childhood.
However, what sets the movie different from the rest is its unique treatment to the subject. The movie takes the viewer closer to the mentality that has been fuelling the religion driven terrorism and also to the way an outsider – a hardcore Muslim fundamentalist -- looks at the ways and means of Indian populace.
It’s a serious and a monotonous movie with very tight screenplay and an amazing execution by all its actors including the grand old Habib Tanvir. A must watch.
