Be careful Mr. Chappel, we are democratic but not liberal!!

It's been almost a year since Greg Chappel took over as the coach of the IndianCricket Team. But the hardcore Aussie is not ready to give up his instinct to beget controversies. A few months back, it was his middle finger that gave rise to the ire of cricket fans in Kolkata. This time around, it is his comment about ousted captain of the team Sourav Ganguli. A few days back, in an interview, Greg purported that Sourav was more in need of finances than anything else when he played in a test match against Pakistan.

That, in fact, seems even logical. The Indian cricket board (BCCI) had declareda new compensation plan some time back segregating players into various levels and giving them remuneration likewise. Sourav was put in the highest category, which attracts annual fees of over Rs.1 crore notwithstanding his earlier two-year poor stint.

Greg, you may be actually speaking the reality, but don't forget, we generally don't allow anybody (especially the firnags!) to taint images of our idols (evenfor the better)!!! We really don't mind our celebrities taking that extra-freedom to mess with other people's career or to kill somebody while driving recklessly or to kill an endangered animal in its habitat!

So, Greg, don't take things personally, at least as long as you are in India!!
